We spoke with Rhea from Adore Makeup Salon and asked her some questions about wedding day
makeup and hair that we hope you find helpful!
Q: Do you have any tips on how to minimize breakouts before your wedding day?
A: We highly recommend finding a wonderful medical esthetician that you trust 6 months or more
before your wedding day. Book a consultation to determine your skin's needs, and a skincare
plan (we love hydro facials). The goal is to achieve healthy, buoyant, smooth skin before the
day! We have a list of medical estheticians that we love and trust!
Q: What are some skin products you love and recommend?
A: Great skincare helps your makeup set flawlessly and last all day! We LOVE these at home
treatments:
Before makeup applications:
We LOVE the vegan line Mad Hippie. Here are our must haves:
Q: What are some ways to ensure your wedding makeup stays looking fabulous all night long?
A: We recommend wonderful skincare (we will apply it for you!) Then we use professional grade
water based, lightweight airbrush and waterproof products. We also recommend purchasing
your full lip look and have someone who is close to you and loves makeup to help you touch-up
when you need. We do recommend lip stains but there is nothing like a fresh lip! You can also get
a sample from of touchup powder from your makeup artist to avoid shine, especially during the
Texas summer.
Q: What are your tips on how to prep your hair for your wedding day?
A: We recommend working with your stylist on your color/cut and have it done to highlight your
bridal hairstyle. Up-dos look gorgeous with blond highlights, and certain cuts are better for
down-dos. Having hair extensions fit/toned specifically for your hair is also wonderful! We have
stylists at Adore that can do this for you as well.
Q: What hair products do you recommend?
A: We love Kevyn Murphy-Shampoo, Conditioners and Powder Puff. We also love Kenra Hairsprays
and styling sprays. Holds beautifully without any crunch!
Q: What are the best hairstyles so your hair looks great all night?
A: Right now, the down-do, Hollywood waves or beach waves are popular. For it to last—we
recommend setting up a hair plan with your bridal stylist. This may be day old hair, or a blow dry
before…or even setting curls throughout the day. It really depends on your hair texture and the
weather. Also, you never can go wrong with a classic up-do! An up-do that isn’t too close to the
neck looks elegant and beautiful all evening and is great for all hair types!
Thank you so much for Rhea for this wonderful advice! If you have more questions about hair
