Traditionally couples create a gift registry for their guests, but something that is becoming more and more popular is a Honeymoon Fund. A Honeymoon Fund is a website where you ask your guests for money to go towards your honeymoon, rather than a gift. Both are great options! Here are some things to note about each option to help you with your decision!
GIFT REGISTRY
If you and your fiancé haven’t lived together for long, or will be moving in together after you get married and need a lot of things for your home, a gift registry might be the way to go. You can register for all of the things you will need for your new home together! The Knot even has a curated list of the "most wanted" wedding registry items.
Maybe you and your fiancé have lived together for a while and you have everything you need, but you’re looking for an upgrade. Finally ditch those Ikea plates you’ve had since college and get a little fancy!
If you and your fiancé aren’t planning to take a honeymoon right after your wedding for whatever reason, or maybe you are taking one a few months after your wedding, a gift registry could be the better option for you.
*Tip: Most wedding websites allow you to upload your registry link, so don’t forget to add yours!
HONEYMOON FUND
Honeymoons can be expensive, and right after spending all that cash (totally worth it!) for your dream wedding, spending more for an extravagant honeymoon may not be an ideal option. That’s where Honeymoon Funds come in! There are several different Honeymoon Fund websites, here are a few options:
Typically, you can create categories like Hotel, Flight, or even a specific excursion or experience. This way guests can choose what part of your honeymoon they want to help you with. You can also list certain amounts that don’t go toward anything specific.
Depending on your honeymoon destination, you could potentially get your entire honeymoon paid for! What an amazing way to start married life!
