Building your wedding guest list might sound simple, but we know it can get overwhelming fast. Between navigating family expectations, plus-one questions, and deciding whether to include kids, there’s a lot to consider. Don’t worry — we’ve got you covered! Finalize Your Guest List 6 Months Out As a good rule of thumb, your guest list should be set about six months before your wedding day. This gives you time to send out save-the-dates and make sure your nearest and dearest have plenty of notice to celebrate with you! Start with Your VIPs The easiest way to begin is by writing down the people you absolutely can’t imagine your wedding without — family and your closest friends. This core group will be the foundation of your guest list. Decide on a Kid-Free or Kid-Friendly Celebration This can be a tough call, but remember: it’s your day. Set Clear Plus-One Guidelines Plus ones can add up quickly, so think about what feels right for you. Many couples opt to invite plus ones only if they’ve met the guest’s partner or if the couple is in a serious relationship. Placing a framed photo, a small bouquet, or a personal item on a chair in the front row creates a beautiful tribute and a reminder that they are still with you in spirit.
